Stillwater Improvers Day 30th July 2011
  Return to News

Broad Oak Trout Lakes hosted a Stillwater Improvers Day on the 30th July 2011. All 10 places were booked up in advance such is the desire to learn more about fly fishing. The day dawned hot and muggy – not good news for fly fishermen! Participants arrived in good time and were welcomed by Chris and Charlotte, and Colin, their instructor. The day concentrated on two particular types of fly, the nymph and the dry-fly, and their associated tying materials and method, casting and retrieval techniques. As usual, Charlotte’s catering hit the mark! No-one went home hungry, that’s for sure!
